Taimen, the biggest salmon in the world, is the top predator of all trout species. When they jump up from the surface catching the fly, it makes you mindful of the moment. Taimen is a real indicator fish to measure the cleanliness of the river, so get ready to fish in pristine wilderness.

Day 1 Arrival in Ulaanbaatar
Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Rest and after lunch visit to National History Museum and Bogd khan Museum (last living Buddha palace from last century)
Day 2 This morning from UB airport we take a one hour flight to Hovsgol province in the North. Upon landing in Murun airport, you are greeted by our team at the local airport at half an hour drive from Harganat River Lodge. After checking into the lodge we walk 15 min to the Delger Murun river and have a first try out casting before starting our big adventure.
Day 3 Drive with 4x4 Russian mini busses through untouched wilderness. In the evening arrive at the lodge.
Day 4 -10 Between the fishing spots you will be transferred by jetboat. In the occasion of flooding of a river a car will take you to another lodge nearby.
Day 11 Drive early to Murun airport and fly to Ulaanbaatar, stroll in town or souvenir shopping afternoon and farewell dinner
Day 12 Transfer to Chinggis Khan airport

Delger Murun Lodge is located at the Delger Murun river near the Russian border.
The most suitable river, according to fly fishermen for fly fishing in Mongolia, it is surrounded by limestone rocks and beautiful taiga forest.
Olon gol lodge is located south of the province at a junction of 4 rivers. Ider and Chuluur rivers from south, Delgermurun fom west and these 3 make start of the biggest river Selenge.
Plenty of choices of rivers to fish and contain taimen, lynok, perch, pike and grayling.
Emt Lodge is located at the Eg river which is the only outlet of the ancient Hovsgol lake. It starts as an alpine river with clear, slightly blue water and quite a few but easy rapids. It flows through some of the most beautiful landscapes of Mongolia, wooded hills with rocky outcroppings and green lush meadows. Eg is famous for big taimen, lenock and grayling too.
Togol Lodge is located at the Ur river in the Northeast of the province. The location is surrounded by mountains and dense verdant forests. The water is calm with meanders and deep pools and contains taimen, lenok and greyling.
Accommodation is in spacious log cabins with dining room and warm shower.
This river likely has Mongolia’s best taimen population. There’s nothing else like it.
